Thursday morning Hatha Yoga 10.30am – 12pm.

As a trained Yoga Therapist, Eric’s classes are taught with the individual in mind. Each person is unique, with their own story that has shaped their body and mind as it is today, thus the postures

and other Yogic techniques are adapted to suit the individual.

Postures are introduced gradually, step by step, so that the practitioner can find comfort (Sukha) and steadiness (Sthira) in the body and breath at each stage. As we learn to pay attention to the

sensations in the body and breath, the mind is brought to the present moment and gradually it too becomes calm and steady.

Blending Western science and Eastern wisdom, this class uses postures, breathing techniques, sound, relaxation and meditation to bring optimum health to the body and mind.

This class is suitable for both beginners and those with more experience, and offers a slower paced, therapeutic approach to Yoga.

The class is run in blocks that coincide with school term times and can vary in length each term. One class per term can be carried over to the next term if missed.

Cost per class is £7 when booked in a block and £8.50 drop-in. Concession rates available.

Ashtanga Yoga: Wednesday, Thursday

Ashtanga Yoga, Intro Led class, Wednesdays, 6-7.15pm
Ashtanga Yoga, Full-power Led class, Thursdays, 8-9.30pm
Ashtanga Yoga, Mysore-style, Wednesdays, 7.30-9pm

Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga is a powerful and dynamic system of yoga in which the practitioner moves with the breath through a flowing series of postures, building strength, flexibility, balance, concentration and developing mental calm.

In the led-classes, the teacher will guide the students through the postures and breathing system of the primary series, giving modifications to make the class accessible to all. The Wed 6pm class has a slower pace which gives more time for instructions. It is suitable for those who would like to steadily build into the practice. The Thursday 8pm class is faster and focuses more on the flow. It is open to all, but more suitable for people who are already quite physically active. Strength and flexibility are not required for either class as the practice will help you to build these.

In Mysore-styles classes, you can learn Ashtanga Yoga through the traditional method as it is taught in Mysore, India. You will be taught a sequence of postures which you practice at your own pace with guidance and support from the teacher, and the motivation of practising in a group. Think of it as one-to-one teaching in a group setting.

£9 drop-in / £30 for a four class pass (=£7.50/class) / £50 for eight classes (=£6.25/class)

Qigong: Tuesday 6:00pm

Qigong: Mindfulness in movement. Movement in mindfulness.
Qigong is an ancient movement tradition which is rooted in ‘Traditional Chinese Medicine’. It can be translated as ‘exercising (GONG) the life-energy (QI)’. Along with Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine, Qigong is the third strand of ‘Traditional Chinese Medicine’.

It is preventative and also treats chronic health problems. All illness and health problems can be understood as expressions of blockages of life-energy.

Qigong exercises are calm and natural movements which harmonise, support and enhance the flow of life-energy. Anyone is able to practise, independent of age and physical ability.

In Qigong we become aware of the unity of body and mind, and regular practice will lead to enhancement of all our senses, guide us to restore mindfulness and build up our inner strength and well-being.
