Expect a unique experience when hiring our facilities for Weddings, Meetings or other Events. We have a varied mix of spaces and places, so let your imagination run wild. From our beautifully finished Light Room, used for Yoga and other activities, to our Event Space with slate-topped bar/serving area we can adapt and decorate to suit a multitude of purposes. Our Courtyard Area can be transformed with fire pits, lights, a stage etc, let us know what you need. We can Cater for you, or you are welcome to supply your own food.

Monday to Sunday

Suitable for use as a community space, workshops, meetings or for kids parties, birthday or anniversary events.

Event space

  • Half day hire (9am/1pm – 1pm/5pm) £75
  • Full day hire (9am – 5pm) £140
  • Hire by the hour @ £20p/h

  • We have a range of packages please contact us with your requirements.

FOOD & DRINKS

You are welcome to bring your own food but NO drinks are allowed including soft drinks.

  • Please bring everything you will need to serve, as we don’t provide any utensils, crockery, cutlery, serviettes, etc.
  • There is no charge for bringing your own food in daytime bookings.
  • We ask you that the room must be left as found. Please take everything away with you, including your rubbish bags.

Drinks & Alcohol

  • We run a lovely and fully licensed bar upstairs that can be open upon request (minimum 50 adults and surcharge of £35). If you have less than 50 guests and fancy alcoholic drinks in the afternoon, please visit our Cafe Bar in the downstairs area.
  • We’ve got a good selection of wines, lagers and spirits. Kegs of Ale available upon request.

Suitable for use as a community space, music & gigs, workshops, meetings or birthday and anniversary events.

EVENT SPACE £180

  • Event space plus Bar (5pm to 12:00)
  • Hire by the hour for workshops only (Max of 4 hours, between 5pm and 9pm only) @ £20 p/h
  • Excluding Bank Holidays.
Sunday to Thursday Evening Booking Enquiry

FRIDAY & SATURDAY

Suitable for parties, birthday parties, or anniversary events. Price includes shared access to our marquee in the courtyard, sound system to plug into tablets, smart phones or laptops, fully licensed and stocked bar and free Wi-Fi. Please note that during the winter months the marquee might not be up due to weather conditions.

EVENT SPACE & BAR £360

  • 6pm to 1am. Guests are asked to vacate the premises by 1.30am. Access to set up from 5pm.
  • Fully licensed and stocked bar.
  • Maximum capacity 150 guests standing.
  • Shared access to our courtyard and marquee area.
  • Free WIFI.
  • Access to our sound system for background music using ipad/phone

Self-Catering Charge £50

  • You are very welcome to bring your own food but NO drinks are allowed including alcohol and soft drinks. An additional charge of £50 will be applicable.

  • The room must be left as found at the conclusion of the event.
  • No overnight storage is available.

Sound System

  • There is a sound system included in the venue hire price suitable for background music for you connect a tablet, laptop or smartphone (please bring connecting cable).
  • We offer an in-house PA system including a sound engineer at an additional price of £150.00.
  • The room must be left as found at the conclusion of the event.
  • No overnight storage is available.
  • Free Wi-Fi available

Parking

  • Public parking is available opposite Hagglers Corner on Guernsey Road.

THREE CHEERS TO HAGGLERS!

Me and my mate were looking for somewhere rather unique for our ’big’ birthday bash. We wanted to find a venue that could offer something different, something that could bring our diverse family and friends together on a cold November night. We found Hagglers Corner and it was love at first sight.

Sarah and Dave, the owners, clearly love the place too. They have imaginatively restored this little artisan’s corner into a hive of workshops, both indoor and outdoor venue space and a cosy cafe, set around a private furnished courtyard with its optional marquee: Just what we were looking for…

On the night, the cafe morphed into a licensed bar (mutually selected options), fire pits were lit and the marquee glowed under an array of lights and eastern fabrics. It was an amazing atmosphere even before the guests had arrived. We chose to cater for ourselves (Sarah can offer an in-house alternative) and there was ample space for us to serve food under the marquee to our 100-plus guests. Music was rigged up everywhere thanks to Dave’s myriad cables and gadgets (outdoors limited to 9pm in consideration of local residents).

Included in the very reasonable package was a large upstairs room – warm and furnished ready for phase two of our night- dancing! We did our ‘thing’ with our DJ spinning the vinyl – literally – until midnight. Dave and his excellent bar-staff inconspicuously made sure that everything was running the way that we had planned. From start to finish, Hagglers was buzzing yet everyone relaxed into its totally chilled- out atmosphere.

Our ‘birthday bash’ was fun and certainly memorable, made special by Hagglers itself; by being the unique Corner that Sarah and Dave have created.

There are on-going happenings, classes and events on a daily basis but we highly recommend it for that very ‘special’ celebration.

A celebration of life

Our family recently held an event at Haggler’s Corner to remember and celebrate the life of my eldest son, who died suddenly at the end of March.
This was an emotional occasion and we were anxious to have a fitting and successful ceremony followed by a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere to welcome and thank family and friends who participated. We used the large room upstairs as well as the court-yard and café.

We would like to thank Sarah, Dave and the staff at Haggler’s for their sensitivity, support, efficiency and concern both before and during the event. The day was smoothly run, delicious food was provided and most importantly, Haggler’s created a caring, relaxed and welcoming atmosphere throughout the afternoon and evening. We are grateful for the warm, friendly and helpful attitude of all concerned.

Haggler’s Corner was the perfect place for the event and my son would have loved being part of the occasion.
