Emma Grimaldi is a dedicated researcher with a passion for exploring the intricate relationship between mushrooms and the human mind. Driven by a quest for knowledge and a desire to contribute meaningful scientific advancements in all things fungi, consciousness and the microbiome, she recently acquired degree in microbiology and is continuing on to further research. During her academic journey, Emma has gained invaluable experience through research placements in diverse settings. Her time in Iceland exposed her to the unique ecosystems, folklore and fungal biodiversity in lichens. Later, in a neuropharmacology lab she gained hands-on experience investigating the mechanisms and long-term effects of psilocybin on the brain. Emma’s interdisciplinary background in microbiology and neuropharmacology equips her with a multifaceted understanding of the intricate interplay between mushrooms and the human mind. Her research interests lie at the intersection of neuropharmacology, microbiology, and psychedelics, where she aims to unravel the potential of mushrooms for a better future.
